On the first Friday of February in FIFA 17, there was a TOTW SBC that required OTW cards. Prices of the cheapest OTW players rose A LOT for that (check out some of their prices here). OTW Kessie and Hernandez are both sitting around 20k, so you could look to pick them up.

When is the best time to sell with TOTY incoming?

Even with TOTY Messi on the horizon, I still think 95 striker Messi will increase in value over the next few weeks. His TOTY likely won’t be a striker, and that will help keep the value of the 95. I’d wait and see where his price rises.
How confident are you IF Jagielka can hit 25k? When do you expect him to peak, when new POTM comes out?
25k will most likely only hit if there is a POTM requirement for him. Otherwise, his price will land somewhere between 20-25. As with all informs, they increase over time, so the longer you hold the more you will make on him. That’s not to say I think you should be holding the card until February. I’ll be looking to offload in the next couple weeks.

Even though he won’t be in packs, I think his price will dip a bit during TOTY. Keep an eye on his price during that event and pull the trigger when you’re happy with the cost.
With TOTY on the horizon I have liquified some of my players… which cards will be crashing in price?
I for example have a 86 Rijkaard that I have been thinking about selling, should I do so this week or what?
And what about Icon and IF cards? Will they stay the same or crash?
The cards that will be in packs are the ones that will be crashing. Inform cards should be fine, and I think Icons (the cheapest ones) will keep their value because of Icon SBC demand. It would be a good idea to offload Rijkaard.

Would you say that higher rated players like 88 or higher are going to decrease? Bought Dybala for example…
Am thinking about buying Naingolan as well but might wait.
Yes, TOTY will cause those players to decrease as long as their base cards are in packs during the event.
How much are we talking percentage wise?
I wouldn’t think of it as a percentage. I’d more emphasize that with so much of a supply hitting the market all at once there will be opportunities to grab deals on players. They might drop overall by 5-10%, but there will be chances to grab them for even better deals than that.
Do you think Salah OTW is a good investment ahead of the totw announcement?
I’d be more interested in investing in him because of upcoming winter upgrades than this TOTW.
How do you mean sorry? am I right in thinking if he gets TOTY it wouldn’t auto upgrade him?
1. We know the players from TOTY, they were announced in October I think, there are no players from Premier League, but there are a lot from Real Madrid 🙂
2. OTW, don’t get an upgrade with TOTY or TOTGS.

FIFA releases upgrades/downgrades in February based on how they’ve played up to this point. If Salah’s base card gets one (which he undoubtedly will), that means the rating of his other special cards will likely get an upgrade as well i.e. his 86 OTW could become and 87 with a 3 star weak foot.
I was dumb and bought into the icon hype last week, bought higuians, courtouis, buffons and some 87/86. Most are coming back up after that crash, but should I offload prior to Toty. I’m at a small loss on everything at this point (lol)
Definitely get rid of them prior to TOTY. It sucks that its a loss, but still not nearly the loss it would be if you sold later.

January 12th looks like the date. They should rise leading up to that Friday.
When schould i buy 83 rated card again for investment? During TOTY?
Yes, grab them during lightning rounds and sell during OTW Winter Edition SBCs. I outlined upcoming investment opportunities in this post.
