Marquee Matchup Predictions for Week 26

Boca Juniors v. River Plate
Boca Juniors v. River PlateWidely regarded as the fiercest rivalry in the world, Boca Juniors take on River Plate in the final of the Primera Division. I have my doubts that this game will actually be chosen for Marquee Matchups, so I’d suggest selling in the hype. Invest in silver or bronze Argentinians for close to discard from either side.
OM v. Lyon
It’s been a few weeks since we have had a Ligue 1 Marquee Matchup. The “Choc des Olympiques” could change that as OM (56 points, 3rd in table) look to widen their lead on Lyon (51 points, 4th in table). Marseille players are all quite inflated, so look to grab Lyon golds for discard. Ferri, Aouar, and Traore are all decent looks.
Notts County v. Mansfield
This is my dark horse of the four predictions. A lot is at stake in the Nottinghamshire Derby between Notts County (61 points, 4th in table) and Mansfield (60 points, 5th in table). I don’t think this matchup will get hyped, so if you do invest I’d recommend holding until after the MM announcement next Tuesday in hopes that it gets chosen. As long as you get investments for discard, you have nothing to lose.
Galatasaray v. Fenerbahce
The Intercontinental Derby returns as Fenerbahce (44 points, 4th in table) looks to close in on Galatasaray (50 points, 1st in table). I expect this matchup to get the most hype for next week, so make sure you sell before the announcement on Tuesday. Fenerbahce has some bronze players for cheap, so I’d recommend investing in those.

Hey man last week predictions were all about small league should we reapeat that this week too?
If you plan on selling in the hype, small leagues are your better option – they tend to rise more leading up to the announcement than big leagues. I don’t expect Notts County and Mansfield to rise much, though – that was more of a “sleeper” pick.
Any target price for Traore, Aouar and Ferri? I know the best price is the closest to discard… But as it’s inflating, it would be good to know what is the “maximum” price you recommend 🙂
I’d probably wouldn’t buy for more than 450 coins. Also, I should mention again that I think the returns on the Galatasaray v. Fenerbahce matchup will be better than the Ligue 1 fixture.

Why do you think it’s good to invest in bronze cards? (i.e. in case of fenerbahce) ??

I think the return on investment will be better. This past week, we saw bronze cards from Celtic/Rangers shoot up, and you could have made 1000% off of your investment if you grabbed them and sold at the right price. While I don’t think Fenerbahce/Galatasaray will go up as much (not as hyped and too much supply on the market compared to Celtic/Rangers), I still think they will have a better ROI than the Ligue 1 matchup, so long as you sell in the hype.

I would sell in the hype for Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. As for the English matchup, just make sure you get your investments for discard. If EA does choose the matchup, there’s still no guarantee the requirements will make your investments go up much.
