is this the time to buy icons? (i’m talking about baby ones) would it still keep dropping or is now the time? thanks
It might keep dropping. I would wait until the weekend to see where everything settles – the market is a bit too volatile to make big purchases right now in my opinion.
Will the market bounce back after few days/weeks of wc mode release?
Possibly. I could see people getting tired of WC Ultimate Team as there is little substance to it other than pack openings. I’m definitely staying away from buying until this weekend – more packs will continue to be opened over the next few days. After that, I will gauge how the market is doing and make a decision from there.
Chief I lost everything, I didn’t think the ROW TOTS cards would go this low. Do you think they will go up at some point (Ultimate TOTS SBC?) or should I take my loss of approximately 5 million?
I doubt it. The market has taken a nose dive as a whole, and I don’t see some SBC helping it to recover. Considering you can get some insane tradable TOTS players for under 100k now, I don’t see people paying 50k+ for some untradeable versions of cards. They would rather keep their funds available to use in WC mode.
So take my losses?
I would start selling, yes. If you invested in that many, then it’s probably a good idea to start offloading at least some. You could hold some in hopes they rise for Ultimate TOTS, but again, I doubt they will.
Chief what do think about the Ptg cards, are they a good invest?
The only thing I like as investments at the moment are cards you can get for close discard. Everything else is too risky with this volatile of a market.
I packed Neymar TOTS. Do you think prices will go up again, or would you recommend to sell him now??? Prices go down craaaazy
I think he, and the market in general, will continue to go down even further. People will continue to open packs over the next few days. Also, there is a good chance that he will be in the Ultimate TOTS on Friday, so that just means he will be packed even more. I’d sell and take your coins.
Bought vanilla CR7 for 300k last night, thinking it wasn’t going to get better than that. He’s currently down to about 280k. All signs point to the market continuing to stagnate. Should I just sell him now, take a small loss, but then be able to buy him back for an even cheaper price in a day or two?
I foresee the market continue to go down. It seems all people are concerned with at this point is opening packs, and that added supply will only drive player prices down.
I would look to buy back sometime this weekend after Ultimate TOTS drops and we find some sort of baseline for this downward spiral.
Wouldn’t his price just go up, considering his base card is going to be out of packs?
The market has begun to rebound over the last 12 hours. I would attribute a price increase to that rather than him being out of packs. Circumstances when players have been out of packs and went up in price are quite situational, and I don’t think he is one of those players that would go up because of a cut in supply.
Will ultimate tots be repeatable
EA might throw a repeatable or tradeable SBC at us for Ultimate TOTS. We will have to wait and see.
Is it still the best time to buy a new team tomorrow Chief?
You always want to get the best deal for each individual player you buy. It’s highly unlikely you will be able to get them all for the cheapest price at one given time. Monitor their prices this weekend and see if you can get them for cheap via bid or BIN.
Chief, today is a sad day, a very sad day. As you probably know I invested 7 mil into the ROW TOTS, sold with your advice and lost 4 mil and now the players I had went up to 39k and they are still rising, I could have lost 2 mil instead of 4 and maybe even less if the ROW TOTS rise even further 🙁
When did you invest and what price? I’m confused.
You didn’t know this? I invested 23th May, the wednesday that the new ROW TOTS came out. In the previous weeks the first day the ROW TOTS came out was the cheapest, so I invested 7 million in several TOTS at 55k and also Milinkovic and Gustavo. In the days after the TOTS cards I had, got cheaper and cheaper. You went to the wedding and I decided that I wouldn’t panic sell the cards. When the SBC came the TOTS got even cheaper and the same happened on the Tuesday after. I asked in the Q & A thread if I should sell or keep and you told me to sell and maybe keep a few, I sold everything and lost 4 million. I had invested 7, lost 4 and now only have about 3 million coins. Yesterday when the Ultimate TOTS SBC got released they required 2 TOTS SBC and the ROW TOTS are rising, the Ferreyra I sold for 25 are now 45k. So if I kept the ROW TOTS cards and sold them now, I could have lost way less, that’s why it’s a sad day for me.
