Reasoning for Investment: In FIFA 22, EA required promo cards for SBCs more than any other year before. Early on people didn’t expect this, and RTTK cards like Manafa were at discard. Porto had an upcoming CL match that could earn Manafa an upgrade, too, so he had great upside with no downside being at discard.

Early in FIFA 23, keep an eye out for promo cards (e.g. OTW, RTTF) that are at discard in case EA repeats themselves and requires them for SBCs again. In the event of a highly desirable SBC, they could explode just as Manafa did.
