Just as we have Marquee Matchups on Thursdays for notable league fixtures, Champions League weeks bring about UCL MM on Tuesdays. Rather than 4 matches, EA typically choose 2 matches to feature for these.
As the rewards are often better than your typical MM, requirements for UCL MM often increase drastically in price.
The Champions League calendar for 2020/21 is as follows:
- October 20/21 – Matchday 1
- October 27/28 – Matchday 2
- November 3/4 – Matchday 3
- November 24/25 – Matchday 4
- December 1/2 – Matchday 5
- December 8/9 – Matchday 6
- February 16/17/23/24 – Round of 16, First Leg
- March 9/10/16/17 – Round of 16, Second Leg
- April 6/7 – Quarterfinals, First Leg
- April 13/14 – Quarterfinals, Second Leg
- April 27/28 – Semifinals, First Leg
- May 4/5 – Semifinals, Second Leg
- May 29- Final
We don’t yet know the groupings for Champions League (are drawn on October 1st). Once we do, we will get an idea of who might be a good look to invest in for the first UCL MM on October 20th. I usually like to target cheap gold or UCL cards from the popular fixtures for that matchday.
Buying a few days beforehand is in your best interest as these cards generally rise leading up to the anticipated SBC on that Tuesday. When the day comes, you can either choose to sell in the hype beforehand or gamble and hold in hopes they are required.
Cheers,
Chief
