Just as the DOW Industrial average tracks the stock market, the FUTBIN Index 100 tracks the Ultimate Team market. This index can help to get a sense of the current state of player prices. FUTBIN doesn’t archive indexes from old FIFAs, but I have kept a log of the past few seasons.
You’ll notice that, in general, the Index gradually drops as time goes on. There are 2 main reasons for this:
- There is a limited amount of supply at the beginning of the game, causing for higher player prices. As time goes on, packs are opened and more supply comes on the market.
- There are more people playing the game in the first month than any other time, making for high demand and increased player prices.
FUTBIN has additional indexes, too, tracking things like Live UCLs, Icons, and Specials.
As mentioned in the Icons and WL rewards article, being able to interpret these indexes can lead to incite on investing opportunities. Refer to them regularly to gain an overall impression of the current state of the FUT market.
Cheers,
