Player Review: TOTY Mané

Hey everyone,

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the long awaited review of Mané Team of the Year! I let you guys vote on who to review first and you picked Mané by a slim margin over Frenkie (my personal choice). So “sadly” I listened and went with Mané, but I wasn’t going to pay full price! So I spend 7 hours trying to snipe him on the Monday before he went out of packs and I got very lucky, my best snipe of the year. All of a sudden I was so happy that I listened to you guys. I couldn’t wait to start reviewing him.

Review

Maaanéééééééééééé is still stuck in my head from all the times the commentators shouted it when he scored yet again. He was paired up with Agüero Scream up front and my god what a duo. They were more fun to play with than the Ronaldo pair. Bernardo Silva behind them as a CAM made it even more fun and I will really cry when they’re gone.

Shooting & Passing

Oh dear, what can I say about his shooting other than perfect? I wouldn’t know. Just watch the video below. He is one of the best, if not the best, finishers I have used all year. Everything was on target even from crazy angles, I hardly noticed his 4* WF. It was not a question if he would score, but when he would score in a match. His passing on the other hand wasn’t perfect. 99/100 times it was solid, but there were times where I really felt that his 94 passing didn’t deliver. If you’re paying such a huge amount of money for a card like this, with stats like this. You should not have issues with his passing.

Pace & Dribbling

Now I haven’t used any of the special Mbappé’s this year (yet), but I used his gold card and Mané will leave him in the dust every time. Holy moly he is 100% the fastest card I have used all year. If your opponent has his defensive width a bit too high, just run through the gaps. No one is catching him. His dribbling is just as awesome, somehow not as smooth as some other cards (e.g. Neymar, Messi, Bernardo Silva), but he doesn’t need to feel as smooth. He gets the job done and more. Sometimes he left me wondering if I really did that or that some higher power (perhaps EA) wriggled him through that gap.

Physical and Defending

79 Strength? Lies, lies I tell you! In the video there is a goal where he just outmuscles Virgil, takes the ball from him, turns around and scores. He feels so incredibly strong and is more than able to hold off the biggest, strongest bullies in the schoolyard. His pace, stamina and strength both also help tracking back and I found myself more than often using him to chase people back down the wing to overpower them and taking the ball. I’m not saying you should use him as a defender, but you shouldn’t be afraid to use him defensively when needed.

Yes that’s the second 9.9 I’ve given out and more and more I am doubting myself whether or not that 9.9 for Neymar was correct. Yes he is an amazing card, but Mané is better, but still not perfect, so a 10 would be undeserved. Almost perfect, but not quite. Following that logic I should have perhaps rated Neymar lower. I guess was just jong and stupid. With Mané being this good I can’t wait till I get my hands on one of the other TOTY attackers.

Value for coins:

Best LW in the game? Perhaps Ronaldinho’s prime card is better, but I used that last FIFA and I have my doubts. So why is Dinho 7m more expensive? I have no idea. If you’re looking for an end game LW, he’s your man and more. In the 2-3m price range we find lots of seriously amazing cards, but are they better? I doubt it.
